Automatic Facial Processing, Analysis, and Applications

The face is a central humanorgan. It not only identifies a personand but also serves as a major channel to express a person emotion, interest,and intention. Automatic facial processing and analysis is an active area of research in computer vision, with broad applications in many fields including security, medicine, psychology,entertainment, education, and games. We have performed automatic facial processing and analysis over 15 years, coveringalmost every aspect of the face. In this lecture, I will first summarize our recent work in automatic facial processingand analysis. The topics to be coveredinclude face detection and tracking, facial landmakr point detection andtracking, facial recognition, facial expression recognition, face pose estimation and tracking, eye detection and eye gaze tracking. I will then discuss some applications for facial processing and analysis. Thelecture will feature video demos as well as live demos of some of our facial processing algorithms.
