讲座内容: In this talk, the presenter provides an overviewof state-of-the-art research into how people learn. There are a number ofintriguing findings in the learning and cognitive sciences over the past twodecades that challenge many conventional teaching approaches commonlyused in university education and in science education. Perhaps more surprising,many of the currently proposed so called “innovations” in teachingand learning, such as “flipped classrooms,” are in fact not based on the best theoreticallyinformed andempirically validated research. Exemplary programs of researchare then discussed that illustrate directions for innovative universityundergraduate and post graduate business education that are practicaland more effective than commonly used teaching approaches. The presenter alsowill discuss his recent research into the use of intelligent virtual worlds andcomputer models and visualization systems for helping students to learnchallenging scientific knowledge and skills. As this is intended to be aninteractive session, questions and discussions are encouraged.
